Team Parker Racing is already laying plans to defend the Michelin Porsche Carrera Cup GB title it won with Barry Horne at Oulton Park over the weekend (20/21 September). As well as guiding Horne to the drivers' title, Team Parker Racing finished third in the team championship and was only headed by the multi-car teams from Team BCR and Red Line Racing.
The team, headed by Stuart Parker, is planning to field two or three cars in the 2004 championship, and has already opened dialogue with several drivers seeking to move into the Carrera Cup.
"We want to come back bigger, better and stronger for next year. We'd like to come back with Barry and defend the title," said Parker. "It is our intention to run two or three cars and we're already talking seriously to a couple of people," says Parker, who will test several potential drivers in the near future.
The team has now won five titles in three years and Horne has taken 36 podiums from 40 starts with the team in the course of the last two seasons. "It's a credit to the whole team to come into the Carrera Cup and win it in our first year," says Parker.
