During some winter testing, the Porsche 997 Targa was caught by some spy photographer. The first spyshot shows main adjustments to the front, compared to the current 997 model line. Front bumper has been redesigned completely, and as a result the integrated fog lights seem to be better integrated in the bumper. Photos of the rear show again the new tail lights for all 997 models.

Porsche 997 Turbo
The Porsche 997 facelift is already scheduled for September this year, while rumours say that the Porsche 997 Turbo is only expected end of 2009. Since Porsche AG is already busy working on a facelift for the 997 Turbo as well, and on first sight almost finished work, we are not sure when exactly the 997 Turbo facelift will reach the market. Thanks to Motor Authority/Schulte Design, two photoshopped photos are included to this article. Since the facelift will be given to the 2008 model year, we expect to see the facelift for the Porsche 911 to appear at local dealers in September/October 2007. This confirms Porsche is updating its model lines every 3 tot 4 years. From technical side, Porsche is adding a range of new direct-injection engines. Included are 5 spy photos with the Porsche 911 Carrera S, caught on the German Autobahn. An important modification noticed on the shots are the enlarged air intakes into which the turn signals are integrated. On first sight, I would claim this update to be a design improvement! The rear bumper has been revised to accomodate wider-set tailpipes. And lastly the rear light blocs have been redesigned, but I am a bit unsure about this look.

Porsche AG seems already to be in a late stage for a 997 facelift. Sooner as espected... for model year 2008! Photos included in the article (thanks to carspynews.com) show some minor modifications. First of all, we remark a slightly redesigned front bumper with smaller indicators and foglights, as well as newly designed air intakes. Next we can expect a new rear bumper and completely redesigned taillights with LED lights. Technical modifications are still unknown, but we wouldn't be surprised if Porsche adds a few extra horsepowers.

Porsche 997 Turbo Cab
New 997 Turbo Cabrio
Since its success during the 996 range, Porsche is also planning to build a cabrio version of its 997 Turbo model. The whole convertible system is almost an identical copy of its predecessor, the 996 Cabriolet Turbo. Rest of the body work is pretty much the same as the standard Turbo. An S version is also presumed to reach the market during the end of next year.
