On July 17, Porsche brings the new 911 on the market. The type 997, successor of the 996, firstly comes as the Coupé: the Carrera and Carrera S with ew equipment and stronger engines.
Also back again are the round headlights and a slightly redesigned body, which means the 997-model reminds us back to the look of the 993-type, which was built from 1993 to 1997 and which applies among Porsche fans as most beautiful and most harmonious 911.
It lives on larger foot ever: tires of the dimension 235/40 are installed onto 18" rims and on the back are 265/40 ZR 18 for the Carrera. The new Carrera S, introduced at the same time, has in front the format 235/35, and on the back 295/30 - in each case on 19" rims.
In the back, the Carrera S differs from the basic Carrera by the double exhaust final pipes on both sides.
The price of the Carrera has increased with 700 euros to 75,200€. The S however costs approximalety 10.000 euros more with its price of 85,176€.
Next stage of the eleven-model is the new 911 Cabrio, which will be presented at the Detroit car show in January 2005.
