German car magazine Autobild tested the Porsche Turbo against the Lamborghini Gallardo in their latest edition.
The Porsche Turbo, a 3.6 litre 6 cylinder boxer engine with 2 turbos creating 420HP, against the new Lamborghini Gallardo, a 5.0 litre 10 cylinder mid-section engine in v-arrangement achieving 500HP at 7800 U/min.
The Porsche lifts its maximum torque at 2700 U/min. while at 4500 U/min for the Gallardo. The Italian Bull reaches Tacho 200 after already 13.8 seconds, while the Porsche keeps good with 15 seconds.
On the racing course the intractable turbo has however no chance. On track at Oschersleben it needs 1.47 minutes for 1 track round distance. The Lambo does that two seconds faster.
