Porsche Cayenne Hybrid
Porsche Cayenne Hybrid
Porsche has reviewed its plans for the introduction of future hybrid models after company analysts forecast that the Cayenne Hybrid was unlikely to achieve more than a five percent share in the vital US market. Despite a much-hyped launch at the 2007 Frankfurt auto show, Porsche management hasn't committed to a market debut date for hybrid models and it's now unlikely we'll see the Cayenne Hybrid until 2010.

The Cayenne shares its platform with the Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7 and its hybrid technology has been developed in collaboration with VW; the Q7 hybrid is due for market release in 2008. Porsche is also likely to delay the introduction of a hybrid version of the Panamera until 2011 or even 2013; the conventional model is due in 2009.
