The new fourth Porsche model (4-doors?) will probably not come before 2009. FRANKFURT (Reuters) - German luxury carmaker Porsche AG will not start building a new fourth product line before 2009, the company's chief was quoted as saying by a newspaper on Sunday.

Porsche has already said it will decide finally next year whether or not to build a fourth model line -- next to its current 911, Boxster and Cayenne models. But so far, it has not indicated when it would start building a new series.

"We will officially announce our decision in 2005. Having said that, the (new) car would not be built before 2009," Chief Executive Wendelin Wiedeking told Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung in an interview.

Wiedeking declined to comment as to what type of new car Porsche was considering, saying this not had yet been decided

Wow, the possibility of 612hp, derived from the CGT engine, in a four door salloon ready to rival anything from the Mercedes, Audi or BMW sheds, is good for me. I would love to have one of these parked next to a new 997 Turbo in my garage-What a Nob extension if ever there was one. Great work Porsche
